Purple State

We passed this house yesterday and I made Stick turn around so I could get a photo of all the American flags at this house and the Stop Obama sign. Do you know why the US is great? We can have huge political disagreements with each other, and no one blocks Twitter!

Unfortunately, you won’t get the whole whiplash-inducing, I-don’t-think-we’re-in-Amherst-anymore effect because when I got out of the car to take this picture, a man came out of the house.

“Taking a picture of your sign!” I said, unnecessarily, as if he might think I was just extremely interested in the hen, and hadn’t even noticed the lawn billboard.

“Wish the newspapers would.” he said. And that means he doesn’t think print is dead! So I wanted to run across the road and hug him, Obama-hating sign or no.

I should have taken a picture of the sign that Phil’s mom put in the yard during the election. It was a pro Obama sign. It was rather amusing.

    Ohh! What did it say?

During the election we kept getting pro-Obama stickers and signs in the mail. We got a “Rednecks for Obama” and a “Jews for Obama” bumper sticker, and we considered putting them both on our bumper as his&hers Obama love.

But then we decided that so much love for Obama, calling their son a redneck AND drawing attention to my half-Chosen People-ness would be more than my conservative “in-laws” could take!

I love the message. So accurate and about time people realize it. Spread the word. The truth is now being uncovered. Stand up for your rights.

I hope you meant the free-speech message, as I’m one of those bleeding-heart liberals who think even poor people should be able to see doctors.

I mean that I agree with the sign that Obama is committing crimes. Requesting that personal emails be sent by snitchers to the Whitehouse is against the law. That is a fact. The law is in place to ensure that the government cannot gather information on people, which could lead to tracking them or putting pressure on them. No matter the intent, it is against the law.

I also think everyone should have insurance. Just not the way Obama wants it. In 2007, he claimed he wants a government only system and he needs to do it one step at a time. He is now taking those steps, but claims he never said what he did say and is on videotape. I saw it and you can too. Private insurance cannot compete with a government plan that can run even when losing money. The plan is to put the private insurers out of business. That is a bad plan.

A good plan would be to allow insurers to cross state lines, limit law suits, require insurance coverage and subsidize those that cannot afford it. All the while, allowing private insurers to compete for the new business, rather than creating a government run plan that puts private insurers out of business and takes away my plan, which it will no matter what the talking points try to claim. Do you really what government running healthcare when the can’t run the post office, medicare or social security right?????

Have you even read what is really in the bill or are you just going by liberal talking points. The verbiage in the bill is absolutely SHOCKING….if you read it. I voted for Obama and now deeply regret it. This is not the change I expected.

It’s sad that people who have great health coverage now are going to have to have merely good coverage, but for the millions of people whose jobs don’t offer any insurance, they’ll now have good coverage instead of nothing at all.
