How My Mind Works

Caitlin and I decided to do NaNoWriMo, the novel-writing insanity. I’ve been doing really well on the daily wordcount goal, but I’m not so great with the discipline. Since I set out to write a novel, I’ve now completed two short stories, a book review, and several non-fiction columns.

My ability to put together words on a regular basis is quite the suck. I feel like I should have planned ahead more if I was going to do it.

Aren’t you being a true writer then? Being able to get vast output on any project save the one you are supposed to be focusing on?

Is that the definition? I am DEFINITELY a true writer in that case!

Maybe I should sign up for a couple classes after Nanowrimo… there’s nothing like having a final paper due to motivate me to work on other things!

And I have completed 5000 grad school essays, each one not quite right.
