Apps That Need To Exist: Skipworthy

To improve the Facebook experience for the average user, this app will automatically hide everything shared from Buzzfeed or Upworthy from the user’s Facebook timeline.  Optional upgrades will allow users to block any posts with “…and you’ll never believe what happens next!” in the headline,  or block any numbered list posted with variations on “Number 5 is SO TRUE!!!”

I actually have blocked all posts from Buzzfeed and Upworthy. The next time you see one of those posts you can click the button in the upper right and select the option to hide all posts from that site in your feed. It has made life *so* much better.

I am slowly muting lots of YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!!!!!! headlines, which also includes muting certain FB friends who post these links all the time. Another one I want to skip is when someone takes a which-character-are-you? quiz, or maybe have a cap on how many of those I’ll see.

Hmmm…maybe suggest it to the people who make Facebook Purity?
