London Demands Spices
London demands spices. I think that’s a pretty solid summary of the British Empire, actually. Also, it’s my winter break, and I’m playing Civ with Eric, just like when we were in college a few years ago, I mean several … Continue reading
Civ 2, Or Why I Should Listen To Eric Sometimes
Nick tagged me in that 15 games Facebook meme, but as I started to compile my most memorable games, I realized I’m unable to just type a list. Civilization 2 would definitely make that list. When Civ 2 came out, … Continue reading

Civ V at E3
I was already sold on Civ V before I went to the demo at E3. Civilization, in all it’s incarnations, is one of my favorite games, and I was really looking forward to seeing the newest version. Civ V keeps … Continue reading
Eufloria Reviewed
My Eufloria review is up on Bytten. Despite really enjoying Eufloria, this was a hard review to write. I loved the organic-art graphics so much, but as I read and reread my attempts at a review, I started to feel … Continue reading

Severed Heads
Halloween is coming, which means our local grocery store has put out bulk candy and decorated for the holiday. I’d usually focus on the M&Ms, but the severed head hanging over the candy bags got me thinking. It seemed, suddenly, … Continue reading

Montezuma’s Revenge
I say that we’ve been playing multiplayer, but actually I think we’re playing two entirely different games that just happen to look similar. Let’s start with the fact that Stick likes to sing the Civilization themesong… which doesn’t have words. I don’t even turn on the sound. It’s not that I don’t like the song, I just don’t care too much for in-game sound effects. The Chinese units (usually mine) say “What do you want?” and the Romans (usually Stick’s) say “What are your orders?” Continue reading

My Tribe
MyTribe, by Grubby Games, is a happy Lost-ish sim, with all the mysteries and none of that annoying Others soap opera. I downloaded the game mostly because Casualicious.com’s recent post made it sound like a civilization-advancement sim without that annoying … Continue reading

One More Turn
Yesterday Stick and I picked up the new Civ 4 expansion. I don’t know how it is yet, but I do know that when I woke up about around 6AM, Stick was sitting in front of the computer saying he … Continue reading
